Hostal R10

In R10, we want you to visit Bogotá as a local. We don’t want you to only transit the traditional gringo sightseeing trail of the city, no, we want you to live the city as we live it. Yes, Monserrate, Museo del Oro, Plaza de Bolivar and Museo Botero all are must see/must do, and we encourage you to do so. But don’t just leave it there, because we believe that the best of Bogotá is beyond its top sights, and is not tangible, you won’t be able to take a picture of it. It’s in the experiences you live, the food you taste, the music you dance, and the stories the streets have to tell about.
So after living here in La Candelaria for 5 years, and housing exchange students for most of that time, we ‘ve found this beautiful building which used to be one of the best hotels of the city, right in the hearth of La Candelaria. We’ve decided to remodel it, and bring life back to it, because life is people.
The hostel has 4 shared rooms with special private bunk beds we’ve designed. Each one has its own closed space, a lamp and a plug, a new mattress and pillow and a comforter for the cold nights of Bogotá. Also, each shared room has its own private bathroom. We also have 6 private rooms, 4 of them with a private bathroom and each one with a double bed, night table, closet and desk, in case you need to work while you travel.
For the common areas, we have a living room with the dining tables, a TV room with a couple of sofas to chill and a huge TV to watch Netflix, Youtube or all the EPL or UCL matches, a cool terrace with hammocks to chill and watch the Capital’s sunset, and a bar on the first floor to take the “Previos” before heading out for all the things Bogotá has to offer every night.
We have free breakfast! Every day a different menu, with fruits, coffee/tea and a special meal, most of the times a local one 
We’ve put our heart, soul and savings into this house 
Hostal R10 is located in the vicinity of La Candelaria, right in downtown Bogotá and close to its top sights (Plaza de Bolivar, Monserrate, Museo del Oro, Museo Botero, Carrera Séptima, Quinta Bolivar, Luis Angel Arango Library, Santa Clara Museum, San Francisco Church, Colon Theater, National Museum, Modern Art Museum, and many, many more). This closeness will let you visit its main attractions by foot and without wasting much time in our not so good public transport, and also leaving a small carbon footprint on your tourism activities. And what’s best, leaving you time to know, understand and enjoy Bogotá. Round here in La Candeleria we receive students from more than 20 universities, the highest concentration in the city, so the vicinity is full of bars, coffee shops, libraries, restaurants, night clubs, art galleries, full of students having a beer, dancing some salsa, discussing our past and future… But don’t just limit your Bogotá visit to La Candelaria! We encourage you to take a bike ride to Teusaquillo, and visit the Parkway, or go to Centro Internacional, visit its museums and then head up to La Macarena for a fancy dinner. Or you can also take a short bus/short cab ride (or a 20-minute bike) to Chapinero, to visit its tattoo and vintage shops, or go more north to Zona G to visit some of the best restaurants in town, to Zona T to dance Reggaeton or to Usaquén to do some shopping on the Sunday flea market. Head West to chill at one of the biggest metropolitan parks of Bogotá, Simón Bolivar park, or South to visit Ciudad Bolivar cable car.
In R10 you’ll be at the epicenter of the city, where it all started with its foundation, where we decided to declare our independence, and now where most of the people prepare for the future and make the decisions that will define it.
